Social Club - "Be a local by joining your local"The Cooks Hill Hotel Social Club was founded in 2005 by a small group of local patrons, most of whom didn't know each other until the Hotel opened. Their idea was to help the hotel increase it's patronage by promoting a social club within the hotel, fundraise and enjoy subsidised social activities. The social club came up with the slogan;"Be a local by joining your local" to encourage regular patrons to be a part of a club. Once word got around there were nearly 30 finacial members, all of whom recieved an embroided club shirt. The club raises money by running meat tray raffles twice a week - Thursday between 5pm - 7pm and Sunday between 3pm - 5pm. This coinsides with the hotel's members Badge Draws. The Social Club is also commited to other fundraising such as organising and running Anzac Day at the Hotel, including 2-up, an all day sauage sizzle and numerous meat and alcohol raffles throughout the day. Our Christmas and Easter raffles are a big hit too with some fantastic hampers being won by hotel patrons. The money that is raised is used to subsidise social outings such as; golf, fishing, theatre restaurants, going to the cricket and footy just to name a few and finally a totally free Christmas picnic for the members and there families with Santa and presents for the kids. So if your looking for a friendly pub with the best beer & food and you want make some new friends, why not call in and say Gidday. New members are welcome and remember; "Be a local by joining your local" CHEERS Rodney Harvey - Secretary Social Club OutingsThis feature is coming soon... |
